Our initial transcription of the petition of George W. Riggs included two typos, both of which erroneously listed the petitioner’s name as “George N Riggs.” In both instances, the middle initial has been changed from “N” to “W.” The revised petition can be found at the link above.

We have corrected a mistake in the introductory essay, “Organization of the Hospitals in the Department of Washington,” available at http://civilwardc.org/introductions/other/hospitals.php. Table 6, “Census of the General Hospitals, Department of Washington, December 17, 1864,” originally indicated that Emory Hospital had only 90 beds. This figure was a typographical error, and Emory Hospital had 900 beds.
